If you're building a Diamond Dynasty squad right now, the 4th Inning update isn't just another menu check-in. It changes who gets starts, who moves to the bench, and where your grind time should go. The XP path is the centre of it, with the 400,000 XP Boss Choice Pack sitting out there as the big target. Some players will lean on gameplay, others will work the market with MLB 26 stubs, but either way, this inning gives you plenty to chase before Ranked starts heating up again.
The boss choice is simple on paper, but not so simple once you look at team needs. Roger Clemens gives rotation depth with power stuff, which always plays well online if you can locate early in counts. Rafael Devers is the bat many lineups need, especially if you're tired of weak contact from the corner infield spots. The XP path also hands out useful rewards before that point, including Mike Piazza and Steve Carlton, plus more than twenty packs. That matters. Even if you don't pull a monster, those packs help fill collections or keep your stubs moving.

The new arms are the part most competitive players will notice first. Jacob Misiorowski throws hard, and that 99 mph fastball with a 92 mph slider is the kind of mix that makes people late, then early, then annoyed. His 109 H/9 and strong strikeout numbers against lefties give him real staying power. Cristopher Sanchez is different. He's more about the sinker, stamina, and clutch pitching. A 95 mph sinker with 103 stamina lets him work deep, which is handy when your bullpen has been overused.
Cade Smith might be the reliever people end up trusting most. The 98 mph fastball and 87 mph splitter combo is awkward to time, and his K/9 ratings against both sides are more than enough for tight games. Jojo Romero is also worth a look if you need a lefty who can face right-handed bats without feeling like a gamble. On offence, Cody Bellinger's 95 overall Spotlight card brings clutch hitting and a useful swing, while Paul O'Neill's Cornerstone card is built for players who value contact, vision, and clean at-bats over all-or-nothing power.
Pete Crow-Armstrong is the fun one. His 30/30 Club card has 99 speed, stealing, fielding, reaction, and arm strength, so he can win games without even homering. Jacob deGrom's 100 Win Club card is less flashy in concept, but a 99 mph fastball, 92 mph slider, and 100 stamina will always get attention. With a Multiplayer Program, new Event content, Ranked updates, roster changes, and a Legends and Flashbacks Collection coming soon, smart players will keep some flexibility, whether they grind games or look for buy cheap MLB 26 stubs to finish key upgrades before the meta shifts again.
