Cheap Flights to Guangzhou

  • The anglicized version of this city’s name, Canton, lives on in the airport code. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) opened in 2004 to replace a much older airport by the same name. The name means clouds, and is a reference to the nearby Mount Baiyun.Shanghai to Jeju flights

CAN is the third busiest airport in China, hosting more than 55 million passengers annually, and is still undergoing renovation and construction to handle even more.

Main Terminal. Most of the shops, restaurant, banks, and other amenities are located on this terminal on the third floor. This is also where passengers can find check in counters and purchase tickets.
Area A and Area B Security gates, customs declaration, and immigration services along with several departure gates. Almost all of the domestic flights leaving the airport depart from one of these two concourses.
East Pier, One and Two. This area of the airport is dedicated to international services. That includes flights along with other types of assistance.
The airport is based on a single-terminal design, which is divided into three main sections to make getting around this big facility a little easier. The terminal has four floors and two main areas, and there are VIP lounges and free WiFi terminals throughout the airport.

Airlines that fly to Guangzhou Airport

CAN is a busy airport with several domestic and global connections. Several airlines can get you from Canada to Guangzhou Airport with only one stop, or even directly if you are departing from YVR in Vancouver or YYZ in Toronto.

China Southern Airlines uses CAN as its main hub, and serves so many routes from this airport that it divides them into three groups. Domestic, international, and seasonal flights depart and arrive here, including direct flights from major cities.
Hainan, another major player in the Chinese skies, also flies to Guangzhou. Their service is focused more on national destinations. This route requires a stop in Beijing.
Westjet. There are no Canadian airlines at CAN, but Westjet teams up with both Hainan and South China Airlines to complete this trip on certain Canadian routes.
